After a successful stint at Procter & Gamble, Doug founded Barefoot in 1993, determined to create great advertising, and pursue his dream of being an award-winning copywriter. During the past thirteen years, he has helped established Barefoot as a successful and highly regarded agency. That has takenand continues to takelots of hard work.
And Doug's no stranger to hard work. But when it's time to relax, he does that up right, too. In fact, he does it up north. He travels with his family to their very own island of happiness. Called Thallata, it sits in the Georgian Bay, which is north of Toronto outside a quaint town called Pointe au Baril (so named because early visitors to the area placed a barrel on the point near the entry of the bay to help other sailors spot a place of safe passage).
Prior to Barefoot, Doug worked as a brand Manager for Procter & Gamble, where he launched the Crest Complete toothbrush. While at P&G, Doug participated in an agency internship at Leo Burnett, which ignited his desire to be a creative. He has earned top honors at the national ADDY Awards Show and in the Communication Arts' advertising annual. Doug holds an MBA from Xavier University. And when at Thallata, he also holds a fishing rod.
