Local Non-Profits to Vie for $50,000 in Services from Barefoot

Award-winning firm donating $50,000 in services to help worthy causes “get the word out”

Barefoot is inviting local non-profit organizations in need of advertising help to vie for one of two $25,000 grants. Each grant will cover $25,000 in billable agency time which can be applied toward strategy development, design and identity development, and/or advertising creative development.

“Over the past few years, Barefoot has completed a variety of creative projects to help worthy causes raise money and awareness,” said the agency’s president and executive creative director, Doug Worple. “We thought we would focus our efforts on two major causes this year and, in so doing, make an even bigger impact. Our hope is that $50,000 of our time will ultimately lead to volunteer hours and donations well in excess of our gift.”

“We have been blessed at Barefoot. Our business is thriving, so we want to give back to the community by doing what we do best: creating ads that get people to act.”

In recent years, Barefoot has provided pro-bono services to Happen Inc.; Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cincinnati; Children’s Hospital; The Women in Technology Institute; The Ohio River Corridor Initiative; and Enjoy the Arts; among others.

Barefoot will begin accepting applications immediately. Those interested should contact Barefoot at 513-861-3668. The deadline for submission is April 1, 2003. Both grants will be awarded on May 1. Preference will be given to those organizations that have the resources — or who can raise the resources — to pay for the production and media placement of the campaign. These costs are not included in the grant.

The first grant will cover work executed from May 15 through August 15. The second grant will cover work executed from August 15 through October 15.
