Maisonette Group

The Maisonette was the longest running-five star restaurant in the United States. Unfortunately, due to Cincinnati’s decrease in convention business and other economic factors, they were struggling. And their clientele was aging. Their sister restaurant, a premier steak house called La Normandie, was feeling the same pressures, as well as increased competition from new restaurant.

Barefoot decided to position the Maisonette more than simply a place for once-in-a-lifetime special occasions. The result was a multi-faceted campaign including programs such as Fashionably L'eight, which offered younger people a chance to experience five-star dining without feeling intimidated—or having to reach so deep into their wallets. For La Normandie, Barefoot created a campaign that would drive their newly expanded focus on seafood. The campaigns resulted in great success for the restaurants, while Barefoot was awarded multiple ADDY Awards, though in the end, the restaurants could not overcome the economic pressures beyond their control and had to close their doors.
